Eight complete themes for YouTube

Quintet restyles YouTube with eight themes. Each one changes colors, type, spacing and layout, so every page matches, not just the background. Pick an accent color, how many videos fit in a row and a theme for day and night. Free, with no account and no tracking.

Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons.

How it works

  1. Install Quintet, open YouTube and click the Quintet button in your browser's toolbar.

  2. Pick one of the eight themes. YouTube changes right away, with no reload.

  3. Open Customize to set the accent color, videos per row, spacing and a theme for day and night.

  4. Switch themes any time from the button in YouTube's header. The main switch in the popup brings back YouTube's own look.

What it does

  • Eight complete themes

Glass, Midnight, Paper, Neon, Cinema, Slate Compact, Terminal and Sakura. Each changes colors, type, spacing and layout, so every page matches, live chat included.

  • Videos per row

Choose how many videos fit in a row on Home, Subscriptions and channel pages, from roomy to dense.

  • Make it yours

Set the accent color, spacing, text size and corner radius on top of any theme, and save up to 10 looks of your own.

  • Day and night

Use one theme by day and another by night, at the times you set or with your system's light and dark mode.

  • Switch inside YouTube

A small theme button sits in YouTube's own header. In current browsers, themes cross-fade as they change.

  • Fix the new YouTube

Shrink the recommended list next to the player, make the player's controls solid and readable, or go flat with sharper corners.

  • No spoilers in comments

Hide comments until you ask for them. An experimental switch asks YouTube for its classic watch layout. Both are off by default.

  • Custom CSS and backups

Add your own CSS, export and import your settings with undo, or sync them through your browser's own sync.

Private by design

Read the privacy policy

  • No account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
  • It makes no network requests and runs no remote code.
  • It works only on YouTube, and asks for nothing but storage for your settings.
  • It never reads your videos, comments, account, watch history or anything you type.
  • Your settings stay in your browser, and in your browser's own sync only if you turn it on.
