Page2Sheet privacy policy
Page2Sheet is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox. It turns tables and lists on web pages into Excel (.xlsx) or CSV files.
What we collect
Nothing. Page2Sheet has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics or tracking.
How your data is handled
- The extension reads a page only after you click its toolbar icon or press Alt+Shift+E on that page. This is the browser’s
activeTabpermission, and access ends when the tab moves to another site. - Everything happens in your browser: detecting the data, extracting it, the preview, and building the file. Page content is never sent anywhere.
- If you set up fields from linked pages, the extension opens the pages your rows link to on the same website. It does this either in the background from the page you are on, or by visiting them in that tab. These are the same requests your browser would make if you opened the links yourself, with your own cookies. The extension never follows links to other websites.
- Collected rows stay in the extension’s local browser storage (IndexedDB) while you work on them. They are deleted automatically after 7 days.
- Saved recipes and settings stay in the extension’s local storage on your device. A recipe is a row selector, column setup and URL pattern. Settings include the delay between pages and the number of exports. Nothing is synced.
- Exported files are saved by the browser’s downloads manager into your Downloads folder.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
activeTab | Read the current page, only after you click the icon |
scripting | Load the detection script into that page when you ask for it |
sidePanel | Show the controls next to the page |
storage | Keep your recipes and settings on your device |
downloads | Save the exported file |
declarativeContent | Show a dot on the icon when a saved recipe matches the page. Chrome evaluates the match; the extension never sees which pages you visit. |
In Firefox, the side panel is Firefox’s sidebar, and there is no recipe dot. Firefox ends activeTab access whenever the page reloads or changes, even on the same website. So when you collect pages by clicking Next, or read linked pages by visiting them, Firefox asks you once to allow access to that one website. Page2Sheet still reads that site’s pages only while its panel is open on them. You can remove the access at any time in Firefox’s add-on settings. When you activate Pro, Firefox also asks you once to allow sending your email address and sign-in details.
Links
The extension links to this website in a few places: the feedback form and the store review page. Those pages open only when you click them. The “Pro” buttons open your own email app with a Pro request addressed to the developer. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself.
Responsible use
You are responsible for complying with the terms of the websites you export data from. Page2Sheet waits between pages (1.5 s by default) and caps free runs at 10 pages / 1,000 rows. It reads at most 2 linked pages at a time, starting them at least 0.6 s apart, slows down when a site asks it to, and reads at most 50 linked pages per preview on the free plan.
