FreeChrome and Firefox extension

A second clipboard next to the normal one

Better Clipboard keeps the last 10 pieces of text you save, with its own shortcuts and its own right-click menu. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V work exactly as before, so you can keep a few things on the side and paste any of them when you need it. Free, with no account.

Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons.

An email address selected on an order page with Alt+C pressed, and “Copied to Better Clipboard” in the corner of the page.

How it works

  1. Select text on any page and press Alt+C, or right-click it and choose “Copy with Better Clipboard”.

  2. Click into a text field and press Alt+V to paste the newest item, or right-click and pick any of your 10 items.

  3. Press Alt+L for a list right next to the field. Move with the arrow keys and press Enter, or press 1 to 9.

  4. Press Alt+O to see everything in the toolbar popup: paste, copy, edit or delete items, or open the side panel.

What it does

  • Your normal clipboard stays untouched

Better Clipboard has its own shortcuts and its own menu. Save an address into it, copy something else as usual, then paste both.

  • Paste at the cursor

Alt+L opens the list right next to the field you're typing in. Arrow keys and Enter, or a number, paste without leaving the keyboard.

  • In the right-click menu

Copy selected text into it, and pick any of your 10 items on any text field, even in rich text editors and frames.

  • The last 10, nothing more

An 11th save removes the oldest item, and saving the same text again moves it to the top. Nothing to sort or manage.

  • Passwords stay out

Password fields, one-time codes and card details are never read, even if you select them.

  • Edit, copy and undo

Fix an item before you paste it, or copy it to your normal clipboard. Ctrl+Z brings back the one you just deleted.

  • Keep it open

Open the list in the side panel beside the page while you fill in forms. In Firefox it's a sidebar.

  • Clear when the browser closes

Turn it on and your items are kept in memory only, so they're gone when you close the browser.
