Amplio 隐私政策
本隐私政策仅提供英文版本。
Amplio is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that boosts, mixes and equalizes the sound of your tabs. It is made and published by max7up (“we”).
The short version
- Free use sends nothing anywhere. Your settings and your per-site volumes stay on your device.
- Amplio has no analytics, no ads, no affiliate code, no promo tabs and no remote code.
- The audio of your tabs is processed inside your browser and never leaves it.
- If you buy Pro, the extension sends your license key and a random install ID to our license server. Paddle handles the payment.
What stays on your device
Amplio keeps the following in your browser’s extension storage: your settings, the volume and sound settings you saved for each site (stored under the site’s host name, for example “example.com”), the temporary state of your open tabs, and your license status if you use Pro. None of this is sent to us. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
If you export a backup of your settings, the file is saved by your browser where you choose, and it is never uploaded anywhere. If you turn on Pro sync, your settings and saved site profiles are copied to your browser’s own sync service (Chrome Sync or Firefox Sync) so they appear on your other devices. That service is run by your browser’s maker and is covered by its privacy policy. We cannot see it.
What the extension reads, and why
To change the sound of a tab, Amplio has to find audio and video in the pages you visit and process their sound. A small script therefore runs in web pages (http and https). It looks only for audio and video elements and audio processing objects. It does not read page text, forms, passwords or what you type, and it does not record or store audio. The host name of the site is used as the key for your saved settings. Tab titles and addresses are read only to show your tab list in the mixer and to apply per-site settings. All of this happens on your device.
What we receive when you buy Pro
Payments are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details and tax information, and we never see your card number. Paddle shows us your email address and your subscription details (identifiers, plan, status and renewal date) and notifies our license server about the subscription. We use them to create your license key, to keep your subscription status up to date and to answer your support requests. How Paddle itself handles your data is described in Paddle’s privacy policy.
When you activate Pro, the extension sends your license key and a random install ID to our license server over HTTPS. The install ID is generated on your device and is not linked to your identity. The server stores a hashed copy of the key and its last few characters, the plan, the subscription status, the end date of the paid period, the Paddle customer, subscription and order identifiers, and the install IDs that activated the key with the dates they were last seen. It does not store your email address: when we email you your key, the address is looked up at Paddle for that message only. About once a day, when the extension starts or when you open the Pro screen and the last check is more than a day old, the extension asks the server whether the subscription is still active. These requests contain nothing about the sites you visit or the media you play.
Our hosting provider may keep standard short-lived server logs, such as IP address and time, for security. We do not use them to identify or track you.
What we never do
- We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
- The extension has no analytics and no tracking.
- The extension never loads or runs code from the internet. License data is verified and never executed.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
storage | Saves your settings and your per-site volumes on your device. |
tabs | Reads tab titles, addresses and whether a tab is playing sound, for the mixer, the toolbar badge and per-site settings. Also used to mute a tab. |
activeTab and scripting | When you open the popup, lets Amplio attach itself to a tab that was already open before you installed it. Used only for the tab you are looking at. |
Access to web pages (http and https) | A small script runs in web pages to find audio and video and process their sound: volume, equalizer and limiter. The audio never leaves your device. |
Your browser may describe the page access as “read and change all your data on all websites”. That is the browser’s general wording for any extension that runs on web pages. Amplio uses it only for the purpose above.
Firefox data-collection consent
Firefox asks extensions to declare what data they collect. Amplio declares that it collects no data for normal use. If you activate Pro, Firefox asks for your permission before the license key is sent to our license server, and you can withdraw it at any time on the add-on’s permissions page.
Retention and deletion
- On your device: until you uninstall the extension or use Reset in the settings.
- License records: while your subscription is active and for up to 12 months afterwards, for support, refunds and fraud prevention, then they are deleted. Paddle keeps its own records as tax and financial law require.
- To have your license records deleted sooner, write to the address below. We reply within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, to object to its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to the address below and we will help. We hold very little: the subscription details we receive from Paddle, and the license records described above.
Children
Amplio is not directed at children. The free version collects no data at all. Paying for Pro requires an adult.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we publish the new version here and update the date at the top. We never open a tab to tell you. If a change affects the data we collect, we say so in the extension’s release notes.
