PDF Editor プライバシーポリシー
このプライバシーポリシーは英語版のみです。
PDF Editor is a Chrome extension for viewing and editing PDF files. It is built to work entirely on your device. This policy explains what the extension does with your information.
Summary
- We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data.
- Your documents are opened, edited and saved inside your browser. They are never uploaded.
- There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party services.
Documents
When you open a PDF, the extension reads the file in your browser so it can display it and apply your edits. When you save, the new file is written to your computer (as a download, or back to the file you opened). Document contents, file names and URLs are never sent to the developer or to anyone else.
To display a PDF you navigated to on a website, the extension downloads that same file again from the website that hosts it, the way the browser itself would (including your cookies for that site, so PDFs behind a login keep working). No other network requests are made.
PDF JavaScript embedded in documents is never executed.
Data stored on your device
The extension keeps the following only in your browser’s local storage on this computer. None of it is transmitted.
| Data | Purpose | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|
| Settings (for example default zoom, excluded sites, the author name you enter for comments) | Remember your preferences | Change them in Settings, or remove the extension |
| Saved signatures (images you drew, typed or uploaded and chose to save) | Reuse a signature | Settings → Delete saved signatures |
| Recent files (file names, the web addresses of PDFs you opened, and file handles for local files) | Reopen recent documents from the start screen | Settings → Clear recent files |
| Recovery copies of unsaved changes (your edits and, after page changes, the edited file) | Restore your work if the tab closes or crashes | Saved or discarded automatically; Settings → Delete recovery copies; or turn the feature off in Settings |
| Last page and zoom per document (keyed by a document fingerprint) | Continue reading where you left off | Turn off “Remember last page and zoom” in Settings |
Removing the extension deletes all of this data.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Access to websites (“all sites”) | Show PDFs you open on any website in the extension’s viewer, and download that PDF for display. The extension does not read or change web pages and does not inject scripts into them. |
storage | Keep the settings and data listed above on your device |
contextMenus | Add “Open in PDF Editor” to the right-click menu of PDF links |
| Access to file URLs (optional) | Open PDF files stored on your computer. You turn this on yourself in Chrome’s extension settings. |
Children
The extension does not collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date. A change that affects how data is handled will also be described in the extension’s release notes.
