Politique de confidentialité de Better Clipboard
Cette politique de confidentialité n’est disponible qu’en anglais.
Better Clipboard is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that keeps a second clipboard of up to 10 pieces of text you choose to save.
What we collect
Nothing. Better Clipboard has no account, no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no remote code, and it makes no network requests. It doesn’t collect, sell or share any personal data.
What stays on your device
- The text you save (up to 10 items), with the title of the page each one came from and when you saved it.
- Your settings: the theme, and whether to clear items when the browser closes.
This is kept in your browser’s extension storage on your device. If you turn on “Clear all items when the browser closes”, items are kept in memory only and are never written to disk.
When it reads or changes a page
Better Clipboard has no content scripts and no access to the sites you visit. It works on a page only after you press one of its shortcuts or use its right-click menu, and only in that tab:
- To save, it reads the text you selected.
- To paste, it inserts the item you chose into the field you’re typing in.
- It shows a short confirmation in the corner of the page, and the paste list next to the field when you press its shortcut. The paste list shows one-line previews; the full text goes only into the field you paste into.
It never reads password fields, one-time codes or card details, even if you select them. It doesn’t watch what you type or copy.
Clipboard
Better Clipboard doesn’t read your normal clipboard and asks for no clipboard permission. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V work as before. It writes to your normal clipboard only when you click “Copy to clipboard” next to an item.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
storage | Save your items and settings in your browser |
contextMenus | “Copy with Better Clipboard” on selected text, and “Paste from saved clipboard” on text fields |
activeTab | Read the text you selected, or paste into the field you chose, only in the tab where you did it |
scripting | Run the read, paste, confirmation and paste-list code in that tab, after your shortcut or click |
sidePanel (Chrome) | Keep the list open beside the page. Firefox shows it as a sidebar, which needs no permission |
Deleting your data
Delete any item, or use “Clear all”, in the toolbar popup or the side panel. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
